What wonderful traditions! I love the planter. Finally the answer to "what do I do with this extra bike?" thread

We have Mother's Day founded by Ann Jarvis in 1868 to promote the cause of world peace, not for Hallmark greeting card company. Father's Day followed. In Japanese culture there's a grandparents day which is a great tradition. So many kids lack contact with Grand's and vice versa. Wish we adopted their tradition! Perhaps someday it will gain a toe hold here.

In the US if there's a holiday for gays it's Pride Day. The last Sunday in June. Some regions it is Pride week, even Pride month depending on how many festivals, parades and events in the area. It marks the 1969 Stonewall rebellion in New York City. Our traditional dish is quiche & Perrier.

I'm just kidding about the traditional dish of "my people".
