Tapatalk and other forum apps?

Most unexpected use:

One day before our put-in on the Grand Canyon. Our trailer light broke in Kaibab, no parts to be found. Shuttle company specifically states they will not shuttle trailers that aren't 100% working.We would have been screwed on our trip that we waited 15 years to take. I took a photo of the bad parts, emailed to my son in Phoenix, he was able to match up the part at an auto parts store and bring it up with him that evening. You can't do that with a not-smart phone.

My phone is capable of doing just what you mentioned, so my phone must be a smart phone

I'm not much of a photobug or reading things on my tiny phone screen. But I do use it as an MP3 player with about 6 hours of music time. I have one of those pre-paid plan. CHEAAAPPPP!!!

I use it to play Pandora when I'm over at the gym by myself. Of course, then I can't blame anyone but me for the playlist.

That's fine. I noticed that this forum is based of v-bulletin, which is probably why it isn't app compatible. One of my other forums ( theskidiva, women's only skiing) just upgraded to something else because v-bulletin is phasing out support. I suspect we might see changes here someday because of that. Then we might get embedded video support too, yaya.

I really dislike trying to read discussion forums on web browsers on my smart phone. Tiny text and you have to zoom in to see it. Tapatalk makes it MUCH easier to read and navigate!

Hi Irulan,

We are looking into Tapatalk. The 4.x versions of VBulletin also support a "mobile" stylesheet for the forums, and even a vBulletin forum "app" - (but that has some ongoing costs for Apple developer licenses and app store fees).

Hopefully the mobile-optimized stylesheet will work well. We are planning on upgrading to the 4.x version soon (we're a year or two behind the current release).
