Did anybody else get a strange message when they tried to visit the forums this morning? It said something about "hacked by....."

I've not seen that so they seem to have taken care of it, thankfully.

I saw it. Thanks Jeff and/or whoever runs the server(s) for taking care of it so quickly!

Investigating - we didn't fix anything

I'm not seeing the "hacked by" message, but we did not take any steps to fix the problem, which means it probably still exists.

Did anyone happen to copy down the exact text of the "hacked by" message?

We are investigating to determine the cause and extent of the problem and take the appropriate steps to fix it. In the meantime, please report any unusual behavior of the site to webmaster@teamestrogen.com

    Thanks!

I'm sorry, but I didn't copy the message. I can't for the life of me remeber the name. It was sort of cryptic and had an underscore it in.

I didn't copy it and I don't remember the name either. But I went back through my history - I would've almost certainly clicked on my main bookmark, which just goes to "http://forums.teamestrogen.com" and got redirected to this URL which came up in my history:

    http://forums.teamestrogen.com/cgi-s...pendedpage.cgi

Entering that URL now returns this a page with this message (which doesn't sound good either):

Please standby while this site is moved to a new server.

When I first tried to access the forums this morning, I saw that exact message. On trying again, I then got the "hacked by" message. So I've seen both today, and was VERY RELIEVED not to see it this time!

I'm pretty sure it said "hacked by e_love". It was gone fifteen minutes later, so I guessed it was just someone showing off.

    status update

The company that hosts our forums server said it was a cPanel hack that impacted many cPanel installations (not just our forums). They took care of the problem this morning.
