I like Pinterest. I don't think I could spend hours on there, and I'm not totally sure how to search for things, but I have found some AMAZING vegan recipes and sites through there and that's been worth it's weight in gold.
I've given up FB for Lent, in hopes that it will make me much less of a FB wh*re...
And yeah, I'm resisting the timeline, too...

I thought the same, but it was so incredibly easy-peasy. FB will do everything for you other than setting your "cover" photo -- the big, wide photo that is now on top of what used to be your wall, but is now your timeline. I resisted, but I set it up in 2 minutes (just put the cover photo on, FB did the rest).
I've since gone back and filled in a few details here and there (marriage date, high school and college graduation dates, death of a couple of loved ones), but that is absolutely optional. I really like it b/c it shows photos larger, and you can highlight or easily remove posts you prefer not show up on your timeline.
I dislike a lot of changes Facebook makes, but Timeline is one I actually give a thumbs up. Try it, you might just like it!![]()

Timeline is just a new layout for your wall- heaps nicer looking.
I wonder about Pintrest. It sounds like it does exaactly what FB already can do (what's stopping you putting photos or recipes on FB?) Except it's more punlic. Nothing really amazing new there.
I just joined pinterest too and I don't get it either. I'm not sure if I want to invest the time to figure it out especially with nicer weather coming and the chance to be outdoors more, but maybe on rainy days....I dunno...I have FB friends who seem enthralled with it.

Pinterest is really great is you like cooking. It makes it very easy to bookmark recipes that you want to go back to and/or quickly reference. This is me. http://pinterest.com/glutenfreefit/
I like what I've seen so far, I see it as a nice way to "bookmark" things on the internet like recipes, photos, and needlework designs I might like to do someday. It is a visual bookmark system which is faster for me to determine what I want than the list of links in my browsers' bookmark list. I am not spending much time on it but I think I like it.
I wasn't sure I would like pinterest, but it's kind of cool. It's like an online scrapbook of things you collect from other people and yourself. I don't have a lot up, just my bikes, a couple of bikes I'd love to have and the street legal Tron bike for 55,000 I'd die for. I need to pin up my quilts and some other things. I'm not a big junkie on stuff, but it's cool to have.
You can go to any site and "pin it" into your account. If you click on the picture, it will take you to that site for further reference.
Some people post a lot of junk, so it can get annoying getting past some stuff to find what you are looking for.
