In Austin, the motto is "help keep Austin Weird." Sounds like it would work for Portland too at least if the link below is anything to go by.

I like these priorities.

My husband and a bunch of friends used to do something like this, when they were a bit younger and not so easily broken. They called it 'bike jousting' and it involved a mostly-empty two-car garage, a bunch of guys with bikes, and random items to throw into the midst of the bikers. They'd ride in a circle around the garage, trying to knock each other off their bikes. As riders were knocked out of the game, they would start throwing stuff (lawn chairs, small chunks of firewood, once even an empty keg) at the riders to make the jousting more challenging.

No one was seriously injured but there was a lot of small bloody wounds.

I like the keep portland beered. It would fit for Austin since it is home to several craft breweries, including dd's Dark brotherhood home crafted brews.
