    It's truly a personal issue:

there are women here that go commando and there are women that wear liners/panties. I would suggest commando but it depends on her personal comfort level. Maybe have her try it both ways. The chamois is thick enough to absorb pretty much every thing but again it's her level of comfort that needs to determine what works for her.

and what V says - introduce her to the board!
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, champagne in one hand, strawberries in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming: "Yeah Baby! What a Ride!"

Snicker and grin... I can understand you 'quickly searching for shorts' ... tell her to do some more searching 'round here, she'll find plenty of "too much information."
(So where did the prhase "going commando" come from, anyway? I don't believe it was women's cycling...)

Tried cotton undies, tried "wicking" undies, tried undies made from fancy schmancy fabric that cost more than a steak dinner, all gave the pinching-wedgy effect...go commando now...ahhhhhhhhhh.

BTW Nanci...I've heard the "freeballin" phrase from a few young boys I know...pretty funny!

Go comando I say. Freeballin LOL thats a good one.
Freesnaken is a common aussie term.
The most effective way to do it, is to do it.

Commando = no undies. I've used the term for years even though it is probably more male-oriented.

Personally, I can't stand the string from a tampon. Horribly uncomfortable. Search this site for the whole huge long thread on the Diva Cup. The chamois will clean up durn well with a little Z'out stain remover.

And, yeah, tell her to sign up and ask these questions herself. We're silly but not crazy. Well, not all of us.

Make sure she knows you must be a pretty special guy to be asking these questions for her.
