I got out for a 43 mile ride today. Cloudy, windy, and a chilly 40 degrees...but it felt good to be out riding. Will likely get out again for another 40 or so tomorrow.

Yay! Outdoor riding in Michigan today. Very unusual winter we are having. Limewave, that looks like the shores of lake Michigan, great shot.

Looks beautiful! Which lake is that?
I went out today for a 15 mile ride. My toes went numb despite it being 43 degrees and wearing shoe covers. But it was sunny and beautiful along my route. I was a complete slow poke and felt like I was lugging bricks today.
I got a two-fer today.
I rode 41 miles in a loop into the desert east of Tucson with my group and came home for lunch. Then I remembered that DH was off on a big adventure with the car, so if I wanted to get to the bank, I needed to go on 2 wheels.
Naturally, after getting back out on the bike, after 2 miles it seemed silly to go home, so I rode up to Saguaro NP - met a couple friends who talked me into riding the 8 mile loop road, and on the way back I stopped at the grocery store. Girl Scouts selling cookies watched my bike so I bought a box of cookies for my son, and checked in at the bike shop for a quick adjustment. In the end, another 25 miles- and 66 total for the day.
DH, on the other hand, is finishing his 300k brevet, which makes my 66 miles look kind of puny.

Went for a ride today with my SO on the tandem, going out part of the way with a group doing a 200k and then taking our own route home. It was 36 degrees out when we started and despite wearing two pairs of gloves, my fingers were painfully freezing. Our ride was supposed to be about 65-70 miles, and for the last half of it, my "bad" knee (which had not been bad for six months or more) started acting up. Finally made it home with apparent patellar tendonitis (according to my SO, who is an M.D.) and I mapped out our route to see how far we'd actually gone...95 miles! Unexpected century completed in under 8 hours (with a really long lunch stop) - not bad for my gimpy self.

We got 18-24" of snow in many burbs of Denver on Friday so no riding for me. I haven't been on my bike in over two weeks I think.I am missing it.
I got another hour on the bike today![]()
I wanted to ride further/harder/longer but the knee I tweaked Friday started to complain.
Neck is feeling fine though - time to start rebuilding my endurance after being off the bike for so long. I've been spinning and working on the trainer at home but I've learned those things are quite different from riding outside. It is like my body has to re-learn how to stay in the saddle on the real bike...
