It is Crankin's fault...I found a wonderful cheese at Trader Joe's...Toscano cheese with peppercorns. This is just plain yummy!

    Today:

B: steel-cut oats with berries, scrambled egg whites, skim milk, coffee

40 minute lower-body workout session, fitness walk prior to it.

L: whole-wheat tortilla wrap with skinless roasted chicken breast, turkey bacon, partial slice of Gouda cheese, sprouts...I was hungry!

    1 hour bike ride....OUTSIDE

S: 2 small slivers of the yummy Toscano cheese (I am in trouble), handful of almonds and raisins

D: Smoked chicken/turkey sausage, 1 slice sprouted bread, 1 beer

S: berries and fat-free Greek yogurt.

I am still hungry for some reason, but I've eaten enough today - time to go to sleep!

What do you guys do with your egg yolks? I have chickens, but I buy regular grocery store eggs for the egg whites. I cook the yolks and feed them to the chickens. They love them! I would never dream of not eating the yolks of my own chickens' eggs!

I buy egg whites, I eat so many of them that I don't want to waste all of those yolks...I do buy whole eggs, but I don't use them for egg whites.

Yeah I was eyeballing the big carton of egg whites wondering if it was a better value than a tray of 18 large eggs. There was no estimating in that fashion. Still, I have a place for the yolks. Once I'm doing making my egg whites, I just dump the yolks in the pan while it's still hot and they cook on the residual heat. Then chicken treat time!

Although sometimes my dog gets one as a treat

I buy the big carton of egg whites. I started out just dumping the yokes a few years ago, but since I buy organic eggs now, that's way too wasteful and expensive. We manage to still go through quite a few eggs a week, even with me using the whites from a carton. Sometimes I mix the whites with regular eggs, sometimes I just eat regular eggs. But, since this is the only way I can up my protein at breakfast (I'm allergic to whey), it works.

I eat whole eggs. Usually 3 every morning together with some oats and curd. I bake them as a pancake. It is a totally natural product and I don't believe that natural food would do harm. Eggs are egg-xcellent

I'm a whole-egg (fried or omelet-ized) person. The only recipe I can think of that calls for egg yolks alone is for cookies. I think that might be counterproductive. (Unless, of course, you feel like baking. Then you are free to send some my way.)

Reesha, I find feeding egg yolks to chickens funny, in a rather warped way.
At least I don't leave slime trails.

OK, my weight was down even more Saturday morning. I've been really good and I tried to plan for going out Sat. night. Alas, that didn't work so well...
B: 2 egg omelette with Mexican cheese, salsa, avocado, 2 chicken-sage breakfast sausages, half a grapefruit, coffee

L: baked whole wheat tortilla with chopped tomato, avocado, chicken breast on top, cup of butternut squash soup
40 minute hike up a steep hill and down the even steeper side, 30 minutes of yoga
S: 1/4 cup of low fat cottage cheese, nuts and cranberries
D: Italian restaurant, where DH and I shared an anti-pasti plate (this was my downfall), cod baked with zucchini and tomatoes, with a side of roasted eggplant and potatoes. I ate half the cod, all of the veggies, and 2 pieces of the roasted potatoes. Oh yea, and the 2.5 glasses of red wine. Decaf.

I eat them! There is nothing wrong with an egg yolk! My cholesterol numbers are perfect

My cholesterol numbers are great, but I don't want the fat in the yolks, I eat a LOT of egg whites in the course of a week. I like the pure protein and low calories in egg whites, though I do still eat whole eggs a few times a week.

25 minutes of hill walking intervals and 3 minutes of running on the treadmill, "fasting"

B:endive, stuffed with low fat cottage cheese and smoked salmon, blueberries, walnuts, and cranberries, coffee
L: We hosted 2 of DH's co-workers who are here from China. A morning of historical tourist spots in town, about 2 miles of walking. Then we went to the restaurant at a local airport, where they feature local produce, cheese, and meats. We often eat here on rides. Anyway, it was later than we planned, but I had a veggie omelette with fontina cheese, 2 slices of multi grain toast, and a small bowl of home made applesauce, coffee
D: minestrone soup with turkey meatballs/fennel, spinach, tomatoes and a salad

Ah, you suspect me of omitting them all together. not to worry, for the four or five egg whites I eat per day, I often eat 1-2 of my chicken's whole eggs. Seven whole eggs per day is just a bit too much. If I'm not clucking within a year, I shall be surprised
