came across this and thought it was applicable to a lot of us, especially the one about head winds.

I love the illustrations, especially the one with the mice and the thumbtacks. I'm not sure that a couple apply. (Never checked out my reflection in a shop window, that's for sure!)
At least I don't leave slime trails.

Saving for the next one...
I loved this and shared the link to my cycling list on Facebook.
I certainly know about the headwind both directions and having to pedal downhill to keep going...
UNIVERSAL TRUTH OF CYCLING #9: “PASSING ANOTHER CYCLIST” BREATHING.
Yes. Definitely for me. Hahah, I'm so pathetic.
So very true, especially the song stuck in the brain and double headwinds, never double tailwinds! On climbs where I am sucking wind, I have also tried to collect my gasping air out loud breathing when I can tell I am going to be passed.Hi ya buddy - I could be going faster up this hill if I wanted, but I am just out enjoying a nice, meandering ride today. Gasp, gasp .....

Me too! It's a rare occurrence for me to pass another cyclist, but when I do I cut down on the "freight training uphill" just enough to make it look like I'm not at my anaerobic threshold like I usually am on climbs.
I'll never forget the male cyclist who passed me on a tough climb last summer. Drenched in sweat, yet his mouth was closed and he didn't make a sound. LOL!
(But I think Alex Moulton Drop Bar Randonneurs are cool - or at least I would really like to try one)![]()
Most days in life don't stand out, But life's about those days that will...
I wish I was strong enough to climb steep hills with my mouth closed, but alas I'm not.Maybe someday (yeah right!
).
