    but rolling into downtown Vancouver was so uplifting! There are some spots like the Barnett Highway and Coquitlam that are seriously dreary (especially if it's hot) but the rest is quite beautiful.
    I suspect the route is designed to acccommodate a tone of riders....whereas whenever we use the Barnett Highway (Sunday morning) FROM downtown Vancouver...it's a beautiful sweep downward into Port Moody with some views. I've only cycled Barnett Highway into Vancouver once ...whereas all other times it was other routes that are quieter, less hot.

    Going back to downtown Vancouver, we avoid the Barnett Highway. There are other road bridges with bike lanes, established greenways that cut through and lead one into downtown to make it less "hot".
