Yay to you for recognizing that you needed to make an adjustment. I hope the added rest and flexibility to your schedule help out with your overall work/training/life load.

Since the end of Christmas break I've had a really hard time sticking to my training schedule. I've got a lot going on at work with finishing up the work for this math grant I've been in, my students are becoming hormonal and the parents of the smucky kids are starting to realize, junior is going to middle school NEXT year and he's not ready and gee what am I going to do about it? Stress makes me tired. I've gotten in all my morning workouts for the last three weeks, but only 1 out of four of my afternoon sessions each week .
I'm also working on letting all this roll off my back.
So this week I decided to only plan two afternoon workouts instead of 4. Hopefully I'll find that more manageable.

Live with intention. Walk to the edge. Listen hard. Practice wellness. Play with abandon. Laugh. Choose with no regret. Continue to learn. Appreciate your friends. Do what you love. Live as if this is all there is.

My "go to" for fitness advice (besides you ladies) is Selene Yeager- and she gave me the true story about life/fitness- when you are stressed and extra busy- it is not a "rest day" especially when you are talking two-a-day workouts! Be good to yourself- you are so fit it would take way longer than a few missed work outs to lose anything (:
I'm not really worried about losing fitness - but I have some big things planned for myself this year. Some unfinished business with a double century...

Veronica, I'm a teacher too, and this time of year I just have a really hard time getting motivated during the week. It's still dark later in the am and earlier in the pm, and even though it's pretty warm in Arizona, I just don't want to go out and be chilly on my bike. Once I've spent 9-10 hours at school, I don't want to go out of the house to go to the gym. And I feel exhausted grading science fair boards on top of regular grading and planning etc.
I really look forward to the longer days in March!

Good plan Veronica. Stress really does drain you. I have the same problems when I'm really stressed. And in my experience, trying to push through it just ends up making me catch a nasty bug and get laid up for at least a week.
