Hmm, what would logicians call this fallacy?

I am registered for Grizzly, and plan to do the first loop only (I'll be thinking of CindySue slogging away while I enjoy my lunch ). I haven't been riding at all the past few weeks (longest time ever off the bike??), and can't imagine doing Grizzly and Wine Country together by early May. In fact, doing the 100k at Party Pardee on 4/1 is sounding hard.

sits back stunned and in awe (as i so often am) at the number of women here who are not just fit enough to ride these distances, but also brave enough

    as always... feeling inspired

Courage does not always roar. Sometimes, it is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying,
    "I will try again tomorrow".

Thanks, Kim. My friend Fred is also SAG-ging for DMD. Between all you guys, I'll be banned from the cars, I think!

This Siskiyou sounds beautiful. Hmmm.. Like I need another ride.

That is probably an ideal timeframe for me as I will need to start work mid to late July at the latest. And I'm looking forward to some R&R at home between graduation and LRRH before heading off for my vacation....
My in-laws arrive on 6/17 and are staying until 6/22. Thom's big project at work is up in the air still - we're hoping we can take some time and go back to Zion around the July 4th. Yeah - it will be crowded, but what can you do. I REALLY want to hike more of the Narrows. We won't know until the end of the month what's going on for him.

Why does work always have to get in the way?

Maillotpois, did you see our reports on the Siskiyou?

    http://forums.teamestrogen.com/showt...light=siskiyou

It was a beautiful ride in the boondocks west of Yreka. Well-supported, no crowds and almost no traffic. Heaven!

Thanks! I will go read those. It sounds great. I fear I have enough rides that involve some amount of travelling already in my agenda to get another one past the family. Is there a metric version??? I would love to throw in a metric this year - later in summer/fall would be good - to do with DD on the tandem. We will miss Cinderella this year and I feel badly about that. We did it together 2 years ago and she did great for an 8 year old, but we have not been able to do it again.

I need to find a nice, relatively flat metric. Suggestions?

Read V's report on the metric. I don't think there was a hill in it.

Great ride to do with kids because you don't have to worry about the traffic.

We could stay at the same place again - just bring a fly swatter Kim. And Sarah can do the food. It was yummy!

Siskiyou (or however the heck you spell it)

Hmm. Flat metric.... I am tempted. I think it's the week before Knoxville, so it would be a good time. Problem is, we leave immediately after Knoxville for Hawaii for a week, so things will be hectic. (DH is coaching the Honolulu century for TNT - can you say BOONDOGGLE??? I am going along for fun and not bringing my bike as it is right between K'ville and the 508).

So anyway, I will see how the summer goes in terms of work, etc., and Em and I may well join you guys in the boonies at Siskiyou. I think it would have the elements of Cindy that she liked because of all you guys beging there!

And right now flat metric is our speed, because she is quite literally dead weight on the bike. It's great strnegth training, though!

Roughly when is Siskiyou? Will it be about the same date as last year (Sep 10)?
The most effective way to do it, is to do it.

That's my assumption, since when I went to the website all they had was last year's date. It is not on bbcnet yet either.

I can stay at the same place, AND bring a fly swatter. I have a ...um, antique swatter I've used for 25 years. To go with the flatware I've used for 35 years, and the glassware for 20 years, and .... Oh, back to topic, Siskiyou, Mt. Shasta Resort, new fly swatter - all doable.
