"Do or do not. There is no "try." Yoda
Here's our newest Humane society adoption kitty, and our first boy!
He's a real lovey-squish-bunny. We named him Little Satchel.
He has thumbs. I'm trying to teach him to type and knit.
-Amazing the stuff you can get at your local animal shelter!

So good to see the new, and old, fur-babies!
Lisa,
My mom's newest adopted cat ("Mittens") also has thumbs; in fact, the vet said he has seven toes on each foot, which is most unusual!
So far, he has resisted all attempts to make use of the thumbs in a productive manner, however.![]()

Emily- Satchel has 6 toes on each front mitt. The 'thumbs' are big as you can see, but he also has a tiny perfectly formed toe in between each big 'thumb' and his regular paw. Even the tiny miniature toes have their own perfect white fur, nail, and pad. It's all pretty cute in a goofy sort of way.

Hemingway cats.
When I was growing up I had "paws" He also had extra toe but only on one front paw. The claw didn't work too well and it was always extended out. My father wasn't too thrilled in having to rescue the poor thing stuck in a tree with his extra claw being caught in the bark. He never did learn not to climb apple trees.
Such a long time ago.
Little Sachel is beautiful. Gorgeous boy!!
Yes maybe he can learn to type and open jars for you.![]()
Give up all hope of teaching the kitty to knit. They give side tracked playing with the yarn. BUT, do not leave home with the can opener and a can of tuna around! They just make you THINK they can't do stuff so you do it for them.![]()

Cute new kitty, Lisa.
My Zoe can't knit. She'd love to be able to open food cans, however. And she's gotten really fond of watching the Idiot Box, er, the Boob Tube, er, television. Here she is, inspecting the Sporting Breeds during last night's Westminster Dog Show telecast. There was some water spaniel with a "rat tail" and she kept batting at the tail as the dog walked across the screen. Pretty funny.
