    Yes, I highly recommend the birthday ride, if you are in a place where the weather allows. It also means the day after the birthday is a pleasant rest day. I went for a walk in the neighboring state park, saw a Green Kingfisher and a Belted Kingfisher. Came home and starting reading Sue Grafton's "V is for Vengeance."

    And skipped cake.
