Mine has been swollen for a week,extremely painful- which has resulted in a liquid diet mostly.

Went to internist Tuesday and they put me on antibiotics but it hasn't made a difference (on day 5 today,2 more to go)

I had my parotid gland removed about three years ago. Wasn't painful (thankfully) but was growing and bothered me. I went to see the Ear-Nose-Throat doctor and she did my surgery. Probably better to see the specialist about that, they are more familiar with those issues...at least in my experience...than the internist.

Before we decided on surgery, she had me do an MRI to see just where it was and how big it was, it is hard to feel from the outside. Mine ended up being larger than what she thought.

When she first told me what was affected and causing the lump in my neck, I thought she was saying "Prada"...as in "The Devil wears Prada".

I hope you find some relief soon ehirsch83, what a thing to go through.
