I'm working running back into my schedule, did 2 easy miles on Monday and will be doing 3 today. At the end of the year I was having a hate relationship with running and was about to kick it out of my life but the scale tells me my life is "better" when running is included in my workouts

    Was 17 degrees (-8.3 C) this morning.
I decided I really didn't want to bike commute in that, so I did a Runervals session on the treadmill instead. (Didn't want to run outside, either.) Maybe it'll be up to around the freezing mark while I'm standing around waiting for the bus later.

Add me to the list of those who want snow. For now, we may have to settle for snow guns and man-made snow at a nearby ski area for a hookey day next week to see some white stuff.

First outdoor run of the new year-- finally! It felt so good to be back outside, and seeing a beautiful sunrise. What wasn't so great was the traffic around a couple schools I went past. Why aren't most of these kids walking or riding the bus????? Grrrrr.... Nearly got hit by a SUV at the elementary school, by an ancient minivan at the middle school. Both times I had the right of way...

Still, it was a delightful 7 miles, with the exception of the school incidents.

Buses??? What are those? I think the only kids who get bussed in my district are the special needs kids and the kids who can't attend their home school because it's full.

Got in a chilly/cold 3.5 miles on Wednesday at work--27 degrees but little wind (waited until after lunch instead of my usual mid-morning run). For once, my tendency to layer up paid off---I was comfortable.

Trigger point issue in my left calf is irritating my ankle a bit. I've been doing deep massage on the TP & stretching. Need to work on relaxing my calves.

Rarely do I see such courtesy from a driver whilst out running or biking: yesterday I was running on a busy road. Normally I don't run on it, but it had dry and wide shoulders. The side roads were all covered in slush and ice. About a 1/4 mile ahead a garbage truck pulled out onto the shoulder to continue his route for the day. Noticing that I was coming and that there was no way around him other than to blindly step out into the road, he backed up and pulled onto a side street. He waited for me to pass before pulling back out

Ran 3.5 miles on the rolling, windy trail at work.

I ran in the morning, before the SNOW started! Yes, SNOW. It was 36 degrees out when it started, so it wasn't sticking to pavement, even though the flakes were thick and coming down steadily. Regardless of the just-wet roads, the hordes decided to flee work at my normal quitting time. Doofi (plural of doofus).
