    Dietary beer goggles, Catrin?

I made a batch of shortbread (chai-flavored), and my mom made multiple batches of various Goan sweets (the cookies are incredibly addicting), in addition to what my great aunt sent us. Plus there's the tray of baklava, and the cake, and...
I swear I ride my bike so that I can keep eating dessert.

B: whole grain cereal with pecans with milk
    S: latte
L: Turkey sandwich (with cheese, lettuce and cranberry sauce), some low-salt chips, half a slice of pizza
fast, slightly chilly 18-mile bike ride
S: An embarrassing number of cookies, tea with milk and half-and-half
At least I don't leave slime trails.

    S: 1/2 pb/banana sandwich

90 minutes hard spinning, also did 1 hour on the trainer after lunch

D: homemade shredded chicken soup/stew with carrots, celery and onion with a bit of brown rice...yummm! Skim milk, time for more water.

What do you mean by half-and-half? Sorry for the dumb question but I am not a native speaker. I tried to google it and it turned out that it can mean different things. I like reading this forum because every time I learn something new.

To elaborate a little more - it's sold here in the US in our dairy sections (next to milk and cream). It's what lots of people use in coffee or tea.

For some odd reason, it used to be called cereal milk - though it's rich enough that I can't imagine anyone would use it as milk in cereal.

Thank you very much for the explanation.
    Today:
B: pancake made from oats, 3 eggs and cottage and white cheese
    L (3 p.m.): white beans and pork
D: I'm visiting my DH's cousin and I don't know the menu but I cooked this. It's a kind of traditional Bulgarian bread but I put 2 types of cheeses and butter in it. It's made with yeast.

I think it's just that tastes have changed. I'm betting people used to use whole milk in their cereal...

I also think bowls have gotten larger, and serving sizes have increased.....

I have actually heard 1/2 and 1/2 for cereal....
