Crankin, I almost picked up a wedge of Machengo cheese today from Trader Joes, but the price encouraged me to try a wedge of "Lite Sharp Celtic Cheddar" instead, we will see.

Last night when I came home from a hard spinning class, I found myself craving fat. Any kind of fat, but I didn't have anything! No nuts, no cheese, no whole eggs, all of my dairy is non-fat...didn't even have any nut butter. Almonds and cheese went on this morning's shopping list for Trader Joe's. I am beginning to wonder if I should try to lower my carbs further and raise my fat (good fats, of course) and see if that is what's been going on with my weight plateau. This isn't the first time I've recently craved fats after a hard workout.

    Yesterday:

B: Steel cut oats, egg whites, skim milk, coffee

    S: apple and 2 tiny choc/mint truffles

L: left-over yummy chicken/veggie/spinach soup with a bit of brown rice

    S: Cliff Bar

30 minute brisk walk, 90 minutes spinning (45 steady state, 45 minute class)

D: more left-over yummy chicken/veggie/spinach soup with brown rice

Machengo cheese *is* expensive. But, I am so addicted to it. It's cheaper at Trader Joe's than anywhere else. Frankly, I don't mind paying for good food and good bicycles.

L: salad with arugula, chicken, goat cheese, red pepper, cup of roasted red pepper soup

S: slice of ww bread and hummus

D: well, at my Chanukah party, so a little (a lot) more than usual: small slice of chicken with orange sauce, chunk of salmon with sauce verte, piece of kugel (noodle pudding) 1.5 potato pancakes with applesauce on top, salad with fennel, half a bagel with cream cheese. 2 glasses of wine. one brownie and one slice of sour cream chocolate cake.

    So far today...

B: egg sandwich with 2 egg whites and 1 whole egg with a small amount of shredded lite Irish white chedder, sprouted bread, a bit of no-fat cottage cheese, coffee and skim milk

1 hour pilates reformer (they offer free classes on Christmas and New Years Eve), 25 minutes weights, 20 minutes Arc Trainer - TRYING not to overdo it...
S: apple with a bit of PB

Lunch: leftover chicken/veggie/spinach soup with a bit of brown rice, skim milk. coffee afterwards

    35 minute bike ride

D: remainder of the leftover chicken/veggie/spinach soup, and a piece of sprouted bread with a bit of PB. skim milk

S: 6 almonds, small banana (just starving for some reason)

Really wanted to open my half-growler of Teddy Bear Kisses (chocolate Russian Imperial Stout), but I want to save that for tomorrow night. I KNOW I will feast tomorrow with friends, and even if I try to be good will still eat too much and you know, it is Christmas, I can enjoy good food and beer with friends!

Broke pretty much every "eating rule" I have today, along with several really good beers. As it is Christmas I refuse to feel badly for feasting with friends, and will just have to be extra strict next week and not weigh until Friday. That last part will be hard... It wasn't so much quantity, I just couldn't stay out of the homemade sweets

B: cheese and crackers, celery with cream cheese, coffee

    L: egg whites, coffee

S: "buckeyes", pretzel/white chocolate/peppermint things, fudge (not really that much of any of them but all of them...)

D: honey glazed ham, green beans, potatoes, bread, beer

    S: more beer, cookies

    Uh...
B: Bowl of cereal, gingerbread-flavored tea with sugar and half-and-half
L/D: Turkey, green beans, potatoes with garlic, glass of red wine; 2 small pieces of baklava and a cookie for dessert
S: Pieces of turkey while packaging the leftovers for freezing; more cookies, pumpkin spice-flavored tea with sugar and half-and-half.
There's still a lingering hole there. I think I'll have an apple.

Yes, I'm riding tomorrow before it starts raining.
At least I don't leave slime trails.

    Breakfast today began with:

cornflakes with skim milk + fresh cut pineapple, tea with milk.....and a piece of chocolate mousse cake from Christmas dinner. Gosh this will take awhile to whittle down.

But in my mind, eating a piece at beginning of day is better than at the end.

    Dietary beer goggles, Catrin?

I made a batch of shortbread (chai-flavored), and my mom made multiple batches of various Goan sweets (the cookies are incredibly addicting), in addition to what my great aunt sent us. Plus there's the tray of baklava, and the cake, and...
I swear I ride my bike so that I can keep eating dessert.

B: whole grain cereal with pecans with milk
    S: latte
L: Turkey sandwich (with cheese, lettuce and cranberry sauce), some low-salt chips, half a slice of pizza
fast, slightly chilly 18-mile bike ride
S: An embarrassing number of cookies, tea with milk and half-and-half
At least I don't leave slime trails.
