Azfiddle, glad to hear your husband is ok - yikes!

After dinner I came home and went for a ride outside Only 10 miles before my body started telling me it was time to stop...but that is further than I got last time, I will take it! I DID get 12 miles on the trainer this morning but that isn't the same. I really miss my long rides, but that will come back in time if I am patient.

Even if I didn't get much further than last time I could tell quite a difference in how I felt, I think the whiplash is healing I COULD have pushed it further, and at one time I would have, but why take the risk? Healing properly now = much more rides and smiles later

We just got back from our regular 3 mile ride. Yes, I know it's short, but you have to start somewhere and I'm now at the point of just one break on the 3 mile ride. (Had been two breaks). So I'm getting better and eventually will be able to start adding another mile to it.

Did 10miles around the neighborhood. It was fun...I had the roads to myself and wanted to continue for 10more miles . :-) . I'll catch up tomorrow

Tomorrow will be warmer around here More traffic though. I really had fun today just being out riding my bike in the crisp air.

Koronin, congrats on your progress! I remember when I first started riding. Less than 2 years ago I wondered if I would ever be able to break the 10 mile barrier. There isn't a perfect mileage except, perhaps, that which we can do at the time.

Hey this is Zona from Alabama, I got in a nice 20 miles after dinner, weather was in the low 60's here. Beautiful day for a ride. I too loved the peacefulness of no traffic.

Koronin, I started out on a half-mile trail along with my just-learned-to-ride-a-bike son. Once we were doing that up and back five times and not stopping after every mile, I started looking for other places to ride.

Got in just over 20 miles today; it was dark by the time I was done. I'd say I should have started earlier to get more miles in but my thighs are feeling the ride, and this is very very rare; usually the only thing that hurts when I'm done are my (poor abused) knees and sometimes my sit parts. I haven't been on my bike since the WGC on 10/23 -- a month! Did two short rides in Paris [woot!] on California beach cruisers, but I guess it's just not the same.

owlice, thanks. It's a nice 3 mile route we've made here in the neighborhood. Figure we can eventually extend it in different ways without leaving the neighborhood. Once we can do that, there's a CVS store a mile or two from here and a bran new Family Dollar a bit farther in the other direction. Although both those rides would require riding on the main road. Going to the CVS isn't going to be too bad, once I'm up for that as it's a main road and somewhat busy, but other than rush hour the outside lanes in both directions aren't used too much. Going towards the Family Dollar though same road, but it's a two lane road in that direction, so that will be a bit more dangerous with traffic. Love the idea of riding there though.
