My coworkers wonder why I prefer to do most of my work at home. Home computer is faster, I have kitties to play with, I can be in my comfy clothes and drink coffee or hot chocolate while I work and not have to walk halfway across campus to use the bathroom.

The university is getting rid of our phones in the next couple of months, we're getting something "voip" I think... I have this mental image of us all yelling at our computers "HELLO, HELLOOOOO".

So, it'll match every other utility we have.

Are those soft star shoes? If so, do you like them??

those are soft star shoes. I wear them almost exclusively (won't wear them for messy yard work or bicycling). My daughter in law has a pair and now my son who hates shoes has a pair too.
I love them. They are fun, they are comfy.
They are MADE IN OREGON and cost less than 100 bucks and you can pick your own colors.

I work at a company with an open floor plan. No cubes. No offices. But lots of dogs and a full bar.

Below: 1) the bar, 2) the corner of one of my screens and the window I face from my desk, 3) the reflection of the Space Needle in another of my screens from the window behind my desk, 4) the kind of stuff you're likely to find on my desk.

If I remember correctly, if you loose your internet connection, then you loose the ability to make outside calls. The fun part is when you don't know you've lost internet connections.
