Actually, what you're saying about measuring a 30D but fitting in a 32C does make sense. The rule of thumb is that when you go up a band size you go down a cup size. Here's a chart that shows the relationship between cup and band sizes. http://www.herroom.com/bra-underwire...ng,912,30.html

This summer I bought some bras in 32 C's & D's thinking the bands ran small. Now I realize the cups were too small, the bands too big and I'm already wearing them in the middle and last hooks.
