If you're into history, I'm currently reading Tudor Rose about the English aristocracy. It is very good, albeit a bit hard to follow because they often have several names - their given name and their name in the monarchy which can change depending on their current level.

another book i just read and loved was called "the outside boy" by Jeanine Cummins. It's about a Gypsy boy in Ireland. Captivated me.
