I read the review and had forgotten one significant issue with the Fire as compared to my Kindle--no 3G access. You need to use wifi. That is a big issue for me as I am on the road a good part of the year and use a Verizon mifi for Internet. I have to watch how much data I use and I come close to bumping up on the limits.
Data keeps getting pricier at the same time more and more data is available. Downloading a movie on the Fire is going to cost me too much data unless I happen to be where a wifi signal other than my own is available.
But for people who do not have data limits this may not be an issue.
