when I was getting a new bike, I found it useful to make a list, then visit all the various bike-maker sites to drool over what I wanted. I have two friends wanting to buy bikes soon, and it's hard not to just say "I already figured out what the perfect bike is, you want one of *these*"
Frame material, is it important to you? I'm a fan of steel, myself.
Do you need/want disc breaks?
What are you using this bike for? Commuting can be done on any style, maybe a touring or CX frame. Or something racier perhaps? You can always use your eurosport as a beater; so maybe you can get a super-specific type of bike this time, like a real racy road bike.
Do you need a bike that can take fenders and a rack?
Internal gear hub, or derailleur? I'm guessing you don't want a single speed.
If I was going to pull a suggestion out of thin air, I would suggest the brava. It looks good on paper anyway, though I haven't ridden one. But it is hard to suggest bikes for other people; we all have different ideas on what we need and what looks good.
Though I did tell my friend she was wrong when she said she wanted a cruiser, lol.
