Yes, standard deep pocket sheets ( 13"-15" or so) barely fit.I haven't tried Beans, but I've tried a lot of others.

Now, other than the flannel sheet issue, I absolutely love our bed but I wish I had been warned about the sheets.

Wow, 19"?!! Almost sounds like you need custom sheets!

I'm going to keep your experience in mind, the next time I go mattress shopping! Probably not an issue for us, DH hates those pillow-top style mattresses.

So long as the Stearns & Fosters fit our pillow top, I won't go with custom. I shudder to think how much they would cost. My pre-marriage queen sized mattress is a Eurotop. It also needs deep pockets, but more in the 15" range. I haven't had too many problems finding sheets for it.

Wow I never knew that flannel sheets could incite such strong emotions!! We tell the turning of the seasons by which sheets we put on the bed, and whether DH has a beard or not.

We have a couple of sets of Hotel Collection sheets from Macy's. I don't know exactly which version they are though. They were a gift from my mom at Christmas last year and they are wonderful. They are super crisp, but soft and they are holding up beautifully. Super deep pockets, too. They were actually too deep for our old mattress, but they are perfect for our new one (which is so thick, we opted for a thinner box-spring...so it's big!). I can look at the label tonight to see which ones we have, if you want.

It looks like all the Hotel Collection are on sale right now at Macy's.

I despise flannel sheets, so I can't help there.

I LOVE nice sheets. And my current favorites are "affordable" - thick, cottony and well made - from Target! they are the "Fieldcrest Luxury" sheets. My mattress is about 19 inches deep or a bit more, and they do fit. And the flat sheet is made wide enough for the deep mattress too. I highly recommend them - I have spent much more for sheets, and nothing has come close to these! They have a very soft feel on my skin, and are not thin or crispy feeling. Love, love, love them!
