Forgot to post, but I did a beach run Halloween morning, my longest so far. I think it was about 3.5 miles, but that's just a guesstimate. I always run an out and back, and I'd plateaued at running to a certain fence (which DH estimated as a 5K round trip) before this. I was feeling so good Mon. am, and the weather was cooler and overcast, perfect for running, that I went to the next milestone, a dive shop. I'll stick with that distance for awhile, then find the next milestone.

The neat thing is, even though I doubt running will ever be "easy" for me, it is definitely getting easier. I wasn't fighting in my head the entire time not to stop. I actually felt better on the way back than the way out.
