I don't have an answer to your question, but if you're not already wearing wool socks, they will help with the cold feet. They won't eliminate the need for toe/shoe covers, but they do help.

    - Gray 2010 carbon WSD road bike, Rivet Independence saddle
    - Red hardtail 26" aluminum mountain bike, Bontrager Evoke WSD saddle
    - Royal blue 2018 aluminum gravel bike, Rivet Pearl saddle

    Gone but not forgotten:
    - Silver 2003 aluminum road bike
    - Two awesome worn out Juliana saddles

Oh, I am a total Smartwool ho (I wear them 99% of the time--for casual wear, too). I was wearing a pair of Adrenalines, which are a reasonably heavy sock.
