Well since I have a 1/2 marathon in 2 weeks I thought it was best to get in some miles yesterday (Sunday). I have not ran more than 5 miles and mostly been doing between 3 & 4 miles. Nor have I run consitently. So I did a SLOW and easy 8 miler yesterday. Weather was 60's, sunny, beautiful fall day in Florida. I was slow! But I wanted to just get the miles in. This 1/2 marathon is definitely not at "race" for me, but just a fun event.
After that I did HOURS of yard work trimming my tropical jungle (aka the back yard). I am tired and sore today from everything.
Hope to get in a 10 miler this week. Again slow & easy...just need some miles under my belt before I tackle 13.1. I am sure there will be some hills for me to deal with, too!
Did I say it felt great to be running again?!

I started running again back in June after about 6 months off due to various injuries. I have slowly been increasing my time. On Sunday I ran for 60 minutes which is awesome for meI still have quite a bit of trouble with my hamstrings. I have for over 10 years. They love to tighten up during all of my runs. They get so tight that I can't even straighten my legs out
Today I decided to start some intervals. I was only able to do 5 intervals of 30 seconds on 30 seconds off (slow run) in the middle of my 3 mile run. I did not stop at all so it was a little challenging for me. Trying to get ready for the cross-country ski seaon!!![]()
worked on base miles yesterday. Easy, slow run with my dog. She is starting to get the hang of this running thing all of the sudden and is excited/asking to go with me when I am getting ready to go out for my run. She seems to have figured out which shoes are for work, cycling and which are for trails/hiking/running.

I went out yesterday for the second rain run in a week. Just three miles, so not enough to soak my shoes, but enough to get them wet and soak my clothes. What's got into me?!

Just returned from a 4 mile run. I was tired and sore from Sunday's run and yard work, so wanted to take it easy. My Garmin was all over the place pace wise, I think it was acting up. So not sure if my time & pace were accurate. Trying to just run how I "feel" and how fast my legs feel like they want to go.
GLC, you have inspired me to think about running everyday in Nov. I don't have a cause to run for--other than myself and trying to get back to regular activity.

This morning, there was the most odd sight-- the moon, hanging low on the horizon, looked just like the Death Star. Missed the rare sight of the northern lights this far south last night, but the moon was just as cool...
I barely ran at all last week, between the weather and chaos in my life. Even though it's only Tuesday, I've already racked up more miles this week than last.
Half-@$$ed fartlek run this morning...felt like I had lead shoes on!! Probably doesn't help that I got hardly any sleep last night because of stuff that happened at work (I was on call).

Awesome!
I've actually blown it for October (but still raising money if anyone wants to support me!!) because I got sick, but I may try again in November just for my own sense of accomplishment.
I did manage to run a tempo 3 miles on Saturday followed by 5+ miles from home on Sunday. I was supposed to meet Susan for that trail run she did, but I had too much to do in the AM (as usual) and was late.My run sucked big time, too. For whatever reason, it was really slow and it hurt a lot (pounding-wise...not muscle-wise). Oh well, they can't all be good runs, right?
Looking forward to a better one tonight.
