For riding in the cold (I have ridden where the temps at start of ride were in the low 20's) I always reach for a pair of lobster gloves. I have 2 pairs - PI and Gore...both work fairly well, I'm just not a big fan of the "bulkiness" but I make do when it's cold enough to wear 'em. For rides that start out in the mid-30's, I have 2 different pairs of Descente cold weather gloves - one is the Wombatt glove and I forget what the other one is. Temps in 40-50 range, and I usually grab my PI Cyclone gloves...OR...my regular cycling gloves with a thin layering glove over them. Yes...I own a LOT of gloves.
