This is my newest one, I just got it yesterday. My dad used to call me "Moose" and yesterday was the fifth anniversary of his death. I thought it was very fitting. I am very happy with it and cannot wait for it to finish healing out! I also have a Livingstone fruit bat, a phoenix, and a bass clef tattoo.

Please, tell me what you think of this

Okay, I was gonna post a new thread for this but figured people would get annoyed with me if I did. So, here's hoping that someone or some people out there will read this and give me an opinion.
I want a new tat. Really want one. I can't draw so I can't really draw it and take a picture that will give you any kind of clue so I'll describe it and see if you can get the gist.
What I want is, basically, a compass rose. I want it to be a circle, with a nautical star in the center, with longer, thinner triangles coming out behind the star for the 4 main directions. After that, I want to fill in the other, essentially, 28 points with just simple straight lines resembling (have you guessed yet?)... bicycle spokes. with little triangles pointing in from the rim of the circle at the NE SE NW SW points. mostly flesh colored but I was thinking blue for part of the nautical star, light shading for the 4 main directional triangles, and alternating red and green for the 4 other little triangles. What do you all think?
Let me know. I'm sorry I don't have a pic.

I believe a good tat artist will help you with your design.

    sounds good to me.

    I think I want a pentabike.

I think you can get a good artist to work with you. Find one and make an appointment to discuss. Have them draw and redraw until you see your vision. Might cost you more but you will be happy. You might ask KSH how she came to her M-Dot I think she said it required a few re-draws.

My bike! I don't think I have any not-fuzzy pictures of it, which is a shame because the line work is really nice.

This is an old thread, but I may as well bump it.

    Sarah-

That is an amazing tat! Love it! Wish I weren't too chicken to consider one - but I am...

That one is cool! Did you design it yourself?

I've wanted a small stick-person mountain biker above my surgical scar (as a simple explanation for it) but can't decide on a design. There are some funny ones on the trail system in Richmond (a guy flying over the bars with a comical expression on his face) but I don't know if I want funny or serious or just plain. Someday I'll put more thought into it! (My other two were sort of spur-of-the-moment decisions that I like but mean nothing...so will never mean the wrong thing, if that makes sense)

    Thanks!

    Its from here: http://www.blackbirdsf.org/chainwheels/

I have been thinking about it for years, truly. The times of thinking about it in a positive way started to drastically outnumber the non-thinking about it times. It is in a place where no one from my "professional" life will ever see it.

    It hurt like hell.

These are my tattoos: The butterfly on my lowerback was the very first one I got done about 9 years ago and it needs some touch up. the Black Dragon was my second one on my right arm got it done about 8 years ago. The Dream Catcher on my left arm is my third and it's not done yet i got it done 4 years ago... it needs to be fixed though. The Chinese letters on my ribs is my most recent one and I got it done a week ago. I am schedule for a new one in about 3 weeks and also for re-touching and finishing the Dream Catcher. They all have a meaning to me. Very special meaning.

    Those are great!

I had a dream this week that I had gotten a tattoo of tree branches on my face, and really regretted it. I still like my real tattoo, though.

I still like yours too, MP. I keep thinking I would like to get a smallish series on one calf that shows the major physical stuff I've done and loved--it would be a ballet shoe and the swim/bike/run symbols. Don't know if I'll do it, but it's the first time I've ever had it firmly fixed in my head that I would LIKE to do it.

I had my idea firmly fixed for a long time before I actually did it. I also had to consider a location that wouldn't be visible in professional life. Your idea sounds great - it has to be something that really resonates for you.
