Cyst & about to head off on tour! Ak!

    Hi all.

CanNOt believe it - a week and a half off from a fairly serious offroad touring trip (for a month, so no chance of just sucking it up for that long), boom, cyst. Well presume that's what it is - lump below the skin where the edge of your underwear would run that swells up when you ride.

Does anyone have quick fix solutions? Had the same problem on a previous touring trip, so am generally pretty fastidious about getting out of shorts & showering straight after rides, so don't know why it's happened now.
Will go and see the doc later today, but in case she's not cycling savvy thought I'd check here too..
    Help!

Last time this happened the urgent care doc put me on an antibiotic. It worked. Home remedies have not helped me. Tokie

Ten days should be enough time too - bad timing for you though! Good luck! Where is your tour taking you? If it is remote, be sure to mention that to your doctor - also being aware that you will be in the sun lots. Some antibiotics make you sunburn more rapidly.

I had a cyst in a similar location. I used benzoyl peroxide (zit cream) and it went away in about 24 hours. Be careful at what you wear if you're using it. It will bleach.
Live with intention. Walk to the edge. Listen hard. Practice wellness. Play with abandon. Laugh. Choose with no regret. Continue to learn. Appreciate your friends. Do what you love. Live as if this is all there is.

Have had to have one of these (in the same spot) injected with cortisone at my dermatologist's twice. Nearly instant relief. But I wouldn't do this with one that just popped up. In my case, they had been going on for months and kept re-filling with blood and pus (sorry TMI) each time I rode and generally making my life miserable.

Good luck to you -- that's just terrible timing!
