Two friends and I did the Ulman Cancer Funds Half Full Tri today. Seriously one of my worst days on the bike. Many many years ago I had a cheerleading stunt gone awry and tore my hamstring right at the ischial tuberosity. It bothers me off and on but hasn't given me in any trouble in years. As soon as I sat on the bike, I was in pain. I thought - OK, it's cold, it will get better as I warm up. Well 32 miles later and I was still in pain. Hurt to sit, hit to pedal with much pressure. UGH. My poor runner was about 40-60 min later starting than I had hoped he'd be. Luckily both these guys are just there for the fun, the medal, the photo ops. No one is looking to win anything. But still, really disappointing.

Walking up to the transition area at 5:45 this morning I heard someone say - it looks more like a ski slope. Dang it was wet and cold. Which of course also got my asthma going. So now I'm in my jammies, in bed with my kitties, with a leg that isn't working so well, and coughing like the TB ward.

But my medal is quite nice.
