there are bags of candy corn on display. Yikes! My weakness. I haven't broken down yet and bought a bag....but...

terrible stuff...pure sugar...why does it have to taste so good?

The less you eat of it, the worse it tastes when you do eat it. Seriously.

I wish that were the case. I went all last year without eating one piece of candy corn. I bought a bag a week ago thinking it would prove that I didn't care for it anymore, and I ate the whole bag in ONE afternoon.
    It was soooo good...

Hi Bike Writer, I feel you. I have a sweet tooth and once I eat sugar I crave it even more! I have to not "make eye contact" with it. If I don't see it I won't buy it. This means I have to look away often at this time of year. Good luck and stay strong.

    Absolutely true.
I'll go off candy for a while, and the next time I eat a piece it is sickeningly sweet.

I have found that same thing to be true- if I can avoid it for a while it does taste over sweet- almost a burning sensation in my mouth. But I do have a sweet tooth and have a hard time just avoiding it.

As to the candy corn- my last experience was that it tasted good... for about a handful, but then it was kind of disgusting but I kept eating it. Can you take a handful and give the rest away?

"eye contact" that is too funny and it's kinda what I do too. That plus walk by it fast.

I also have the same tendency as TriGirl, once there is a bag around it disappears in no time. Something about them is addictive once you cave in, for me anyway.

That would be me in a nutshell, though I haven't bought one yet I imagine that before the season is over I will. Get the fix and be on with it till the next year I guess...

I used to have an addiction to candy corn(eat the whole bag and then be sick on the couch) and I gave in and bought a bag last week, but I bought the Publix(grocery store brand) candy corn.

I had 2 and was disgusted with how sweet it was and put it down. I tried this a few more times over the next 2 days- but each time was disgusted.

I ended up bringing them to work for my boss to give to his kids(but they are still on his desk and he is eating them!!)

I like candy corn, but what I REALLY like are the little candy corn pumpkins. Only Brach's, though. I haven't bought any yet but it's only a matter of time.

I hear you, sister! I LOVE those stupid candy pumpkins...just like candy corn but 5x better!

At the cash registers in the work cafeteria they now have little baggies and a bin of candy corn. I have to face it every day, and it's a killer!

I have to keep to a low-carb diet because of my PCOS, and I wish I were one of those people who didn't love sugar or had it taste yucky after being away from it. That would make my life so much easier. But no...everytime I eat any sugar it's like crack. The rush comes, and then that happy feeling.

Me too! And totally agree that Brach's is the only brand for either of those things. Brach's halloween candy has a honey taste to it. The other brands have no taste and are just sugary. I wish the taste repelled me but it's quite the contrary.

I hate candy corn on its own, but mix it with peanuts and I'm in heaven. Together, they basically taste like a Payday candybar.

When I was an apartment dweller, I could avoid Halloween candy because no kids came to the door. Now, I'd be the scourge of the neighborhood if I didn't have candy on hand. If it's in my house, I'll eat it. And what is it with the secretary in my office? She, herself, is on WW, but she thinks nothing of bringing in bags of candy to leave sitting out for the rest of us. I've asked her to stop, but she won't. I realize that it's my obligation to "just say no," but it sure is a lot easier when it's not right in front of me.

Agreed about the Peeps, can't bring myself to eat one. But then again I really don't like marshmallows unless they are homemade.
