So my plan was to do my long run on Sat (early am since it was going to be a hot day) but I got zero sleep so I blew it off. I did a 3 mile EZ run instead. Then, on Sunday, I met some friends for trail running and brunch in honor of a birthday, but I opted to just do a walk and save my running until later in the day.

So Sunday afternoon, I finally got my long run in and even though rain was predicted, it was sunny (but cool, thankfully). My muscles were sore for most of it (it's also been my highest volume week ever too!) but it was bearable until I hit about 8.5 miles. Then my feet, ankles and lower legs started screaming at me. It was clearly the ache of being exhausted though and not injury, so I kept moving. My last mile was my fastest because I wanted it over with! This is pretty significant considering that my last mile was also the hilliest! Anyway, 10.2 miles done - longest run EVER for me. Yay.
