I just swipe a little blush on my lids. I use Almay, too.

Getting in touch with my inner try-athlete.
I have very sensitive eyes, wear contacts, and have allergies galore. I use Paula Dorf cosmetics. They are very expensive, but I never have an issue. You might want to try Clinique; I also used them for years.

I use Paula's Choice (different Paula than Dorf). The skin care line is fantastic and quite reasonable (not drugstore cheap but not ridiculously expensive). Clinique didn't do anything for me and some products were quite irritating. Paula's Choice uses no fragrances and is really great for my sensitive skin.
I rarely wear makeup, but when I do, I wear mineral powder from Elizabeth Arden and the rest is Almay. Paula's Choice also has some makeup, but I've never tried it because I never run out of what I have because I hardly ever use it.
one of the reasons why i do not wear makeup was that i invested in Mary Kay once upon a time (a huge 50 bucks!) and then i got a rash from it. Before that, i hated how my eyelashes smeared my glasses. I was always grossed out by the way everything my mother drank got lipstick marks on a glass.
Nah, i'd rather be clean than have colors, chemicals and dyes on my face.

Mimi, I guess you wouldn't want to eat a meal with me... I wear lipstick all of the time! I can't stand the feeling without it and just wearing lipstick makes my whole face feel brighter, even without any other make up.
I have never tried any of the mineral make up. What's a good brand?

oh I wouldn't notice it today. And i don't clean up after you. That was my childhood, and i don't really take issues with what my friends are wearing. Heck, my sister paints whole faces for fun and profit.
I'm speaking for myself, and pose an alternate solution to others who have really sensitive skin.

Ny biker- I can appreciate that you want to brighten your face to look more vibrant/alive as one ages.
Who doesn't want that? However I guess I just have my hair cut...shorter. It draws more attention to my eyes. I'm lucky to have naturally dark eyes.
I had problems wearing mascara (let alone eye shadow with the Asian eyelid fold which requires alot experimentation to fake a deep eyelid) and eyeliner: my eyes actually felt more tired with more makeup on them. I'm not kiddin'.
So I dropped out on using any eye makeup in my 20's and onward. I only used foundation, blusher and lipstick occasionally.
I think the last time I wore makeup was....at job interviews.

Crankin, I recently purchased some from Elizabeth Arden. It's the only brand I've tried, so I cannot comment on others. I had a gift certificate for a facial and I decided to purchase it while I was there (Red Door Salon). It's pricey, as one would expect. I like it because it does even out my skin tone without looking make-up-y. It's very smooth and soft. It does not make me break out, and does not crease up like liquid makeup. It also does not dry my skin even though it is a powder.
You can go to one of the salons and try it out. Even though it's expensive, it will last me for years if not a decade because I don't use much and I don't use it often.
Is this like a foundation make up for your skin? I haven't worn that in years. I would be looking for blush or eye shadow, if that comes in mineral formulation.
You know, I don't even know where an Elizabeth Arden salon is around here. I know when I lived in AZ, there was a huge Elizabeth Arden spa in Scottsdale; I had a friend who worked there. I also remember a salon; I think my mom went there to get her haircut in the early seventies, as that was generally before Phoenix came into the 20th century, at least compared to Boston.
