I can finally post to this thread! I would never have expected this to be the first video of me riding, but here I am trying downhill for the first time (I'm the middle one):

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d_e_ZqqLf44

It was an absolute blast! 6 women friends, all beginners. My dh was there too with a bunch of his friends, all beginners there too. The video is pretty un-exciting, of an easy stretch, but it was all I could convince my dh to stop and get of us. He won the camera tug-of-war.

He says I look like I'm riding a million miles an hour all the time, I say it's because sooner or later I will be

@luv2climb, Even with the "slower bike" you are passing riders! At least you had a backup camera. I remember one time when we climbed this really long technical hill in order to film the downhill. But when we got to the bottom we noticed that the camera died at the begining of the video

@lph You do look fast Were was this video made?

Ooh, that would be frustrating to find out you lost all your great footage! I started running two cameras ever since I got the Contour. I didn't trust it, especially the first one that ended up being defective and had to be exchanged. The current one works great, but the backup camera is still a good idea due to circumstances like the incorrect camera angle on Saturday's ride.

Yeah, that first climb I seemed to be going faster, over 10 mph on a 5% grade. The other climbs were more than twice as steep, so speeds were probably 4-5 mph.

lph, that looks like a fun downhill! I'd like to climb and descend that!

Here's something I posted to my Facebook profile back during the summer. This is pretty typical of the riding I do. I think I have the permissions set right for everyone to view it.

Humph! I set the permission to public, I don't seem to have the file on my computer right now, and I won't be back home until Sunday

HillSlugger, I saw the video (logged in my facebook) I like the way it was taken with the wheel always turning, it gives a cool perspective

The camera is clamped to my drops. I tried moving it to a different place, but without the fixed reference point of the wheel, it wasn't at all interesting.

99% of my riding is commuting. I put this one together to share at work about why I ride. There are a few more, which are mostly getting use to the VIO POV set up.

I have it mounted just behind the stem on a custom ball mount. This allows me to fine tune where the camera is pointed.

DH and I just got a helmet-mounted HD camera. I tried it out on a recent commute, saving 3 files at various points along the way. All incredibly boring. I'll post one when I make one that's somewhat interesting.

I really enjoyed your video. What a very very interesting and effective perspective for the camera! Well done!!

Here's an example of the funny things pedestrians say to me as I approach. This was on last night's ride. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W_U_NI9Lmlo

Very cool video. I agree with Hi Ho Silver, the mounting of the camera really makes the video interesting. I also use the VIO but it is the POV.1

@luv2climb, Was he joking or you were really going that fast?
