I got a late start. I was there by about 8:25, but probably didn't start riding until almost 9:00.
I could definitely feel that I was in better shape last year, but after the reststop at the Fairfield Fire Dept I was okay. And I was very glad for that breeze from the north, otherwise I think it would have gotten pretty hot.
I had 1.5 tomato sandwiches at Fairfield, 2 tomato and swiss cheese sandwiches at the end, plus orange sherbet and black cherry ice cream (which I believe count as two servings of fruit.
) Plus the usual gu and gatorade.
I loved the route change that took us over the Sachs Covered Bridge, instead of passing it on another road.
