I am so glad I wasn't born in the Middle East! I think I would be dead for saying the wrong thing by now. Never was a quiet creature when I felt my rights as a girl were not the same as my brother's. (My family is one of the highly Christian ones, and the Church made me feel bad for feeling angry when they insisted men and women are not equal). I would like nothing more for Iranian, Iraqi and Afghan women to be freed from the schackes of inequality and subjigation. Stories of how women are treated there infuriate me. Wish I knew a way to help.

Feminism in Iran has a long and rich history which we all (self included) could be more familiar with. Perhaps more outreach to our local middle eastern communities whether riding or just socializing is in order to start the conversation.
