I live in a tropical climate and so far the DeSoto Sports arm coolers that Nanci recommended have been the best thing I've found for protection from the sun and the heat. The material feels like what a thin summer jersey would be made of. I tan a little bit through the fabric, which is ok. I just wish they came in a few more colors!

On Friday I received a TE order which included the Terry Bolero. The inner face of the fabric is brushed, but overall it's fairly lightweight. I haven't decided whether it would be worth keeping, but if I decide to give them a try, I'll let you know how they feel.

What long-sleeved jerseys have you found which have been light enough to wear in hot weather? Long-sleeved, UV blocking, hot weather jerseys are my Holy Grail!

Terry's Peggy Sue Summerweight Jersey seems to fit the bill, but the print is really not my style. So I ordered two models by Cannondale: the Competition Lightweight Jersey for fall and the Summer-weight Solar Jersey with UPF sun protection.

I wore the Competition Jersey yesterday on a long late-morning ride. I felt like it kept me pretty cool, but when I got home I realized that I tanned right through the fabric. Of course, this is much better than getting my forearms sunburned (which is what happened *last* weekend when I wore a short-sleeved jersey), but I was expecting a bit more sun protection. As for the Solar Jersey, I'm not sure I'll even keep it because in addition to having only a single zippered pocket, the fabric is white and somewhat see-through.

Please let me know what you've found that works!
