What are your goals? For body building, you'd be better off with an old fashioned program. For burning calories & adding a modest amount of muscle, those would work. You would be adding endurance type of muscle (slow twitch fibers) and that would be beneficial for cycling.

My only problem is that people need to be really careful about their form during these types of workouts. As you get fatigued, form usually gets bad. That is when you get hurt. I've watched these boot camp style workouts at my gym & towards the end of the class, it gets pretty bad.

There is some research that says high intensity resistance training burns fat better. Of course, research is usually performed on untrained college age men because (1) they are available and (2) they need the money.
