First, welcome to TE, secondly... That sonds like a fun bike!
Don't have any experience with electric assist bikes, but the little I've read tells me hills really do kill the battery, so always expect less out of the charge if your going upward. I know the guys at the Trek store here say they have been a decent amount of issues with the new Trek FX plus, their new elec assist hybrid. Not sure what types of issues exactly or if they're related to this being the first production run and needing to get the "kinks" out.
I did just read an article about e-bkes Europe and how it's becoming massively popular over there, with a growing network of locations (hotels/pubs) that offer to swap your battery and send you on your way. Allows more of your average bikers to see some of the huge passes, parts of the country you can see by any otter way then bike, plus not kill yourself getting there.
It's sorta a tradition here that when we buy a new bike, we have to share pics, so ww will be expecting a pic of your steed soon
Shannon
