Oh boy... It took me to find this thread and by golly... It's been exactly a month.

to Oak and Red, yes I was fine with the first one. I just dumped the bike from being inattentive.

So today, I'm just doing few circuits around my "neighborhood" A steep hill up, some rollers... Then I decided to cut out on the last circuit. Slow down, make a right turn and cut short back to the house. Just before I got to the stop light where I would be making the right turn, I had dropped my speed to around 12MPH just in case lucky. What appeared as a wet road turned out to be not water but a really slippery oil slick. It was like riding on wet ice. I didn't have a chance on staying up or making it through the slick. Went down pretty hard and fast. This time my bike is okay. But now I've got a raspberry on my right shoulder, my right hip, my right forearm, my right knee. and oh my coconut was saved by my helmet. My head still bounced off the ground though. I can't believe how fast I went down. It wasn't like oh ohhh... . It was a full on smack down without a warning.

Where it happened is a very popular and very busy bike route, so I went to the city hall. Not sure where public works office is so instead went to the police station. I let them know where the oil slick was, how bad it was. The woman behind the window was very concerned and she said she would call the public works to go clean iit up. I also made a point that the location was heavily used by cyclist and with the holiday weekend, expect much heavier cyclist traffic. I'm going to check on the spot tomorrow. One good thing though is that the fire station (paramedics) are less than a 1/0 mile away.

Gosh my back just below the shoulder blade (scapula) hurts. Bit painful to lift any weight.I just hope I'm not really stiff tomorrow morning.

Sheesh... after bike dumping on Aug. 1, I had replaced my bar tape and its new... Well at least it still looks pristine. my favorite jersey got scoffed

It hasn't rained for a while so if the road looks wet, think again!! Be careful.
