I've been back from my sailing adventure for a while, but on the boat we all pretty much feasted upon carbs. Fresh foods were hard to come by in the tiny island communities and pasta was oohhhh so addictive when it's wet and cold outside.

Since I've gotten home I've been cooking up a storm and James and I have been working on building up our spicy tolerance! He already started a spicy challenge at a Thai restaurant.

That said, I made green curry with rice for lunch. I sauteed chinese eggplant, green pepper, onion, bamboo shoots and pressed tofu and then added the green curry paste, coconut milk, palm sugar, and fish sauce. It was pretty good, although light coconut milk has a less than desirable consistency I think.

Dinner? Carne asada tacos with fresh squeezed lime on soft corn tortillas w/ habañero sauce! Yummo.

On the morning news they reported that research has shown what moderate alcohol consumption (1 drink a day for women, 2 for men) has been shown to reduce the chance of Alzheimers, and a bit of daily chocolate (of any kind) is apparently good for other things.

I forget which one of us generally has a bit of dark chocolate most evenings, but she is ahead of the trend

I don't know about drinking every day, that is just too many empty calories, but the news makes me feel better about my single beer on Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings. Shades of my Baptist childhood where ANY drinking was a thing-of-the-devil...

Well, I did not write down my food for the last three days; but I can tell you, it was not enough!

I played in a tennis tourny for the last three days so 2 matches per day, 1/2 singles and really humid!

Yesterday, I ate a bit more than Friday and Saturday and it was:

Breakfast 1 english muffin and peanut butter
    S: 1 banana
L: leftover spagetti and meat tomato sauce
D: small piece of steak, 1/2 baked potato, green beans
    Dessert: piece of peach/blackberry pie

I didn't keep track over the weekend as we were backpacking.

    Monday:

B: smoothie made with spinach, protein powder, frozen cherries, 1/2 a banana and whole goat's milk. I left my coffee in the car and didn't realize it for a few hours - so no coffee for me!

L: Cold chicken breast, leftover grilled zucchini, 1 medjool date

D: tomato and cuke salad, grilled halibut (probably), sauteed zucchini

S: mixed nuts, 1 apple, turkey jerkey
