I am visiting Seattle next weekend and will be near Seattle Center. I will not have my bike though-will be on foot. I was wondering if anyone of you Emerald City women could tell me if there are any bike shops in the area?

He's in Fremont which is a great neighborhood. If he's busy you can drown your sorrows in chocolate:

And then walk across the street to:

Lots of cross and commuter options like Surly ....

And if you should just happen to rent a bike at Recycled Cycles (on the Burke-Gilman trail) you could ride it east on the trail to Counterbalance Bicycles http://www.counterbalancebicycles.com/ and then west on the trail to Free Range and CBS.
You could also ride on the B-G to the Ballard locks and the fish ladders along the ship canal and Lake Union, and in the other direction to Matthews Beach on Lake Washington. No maps required, just stay on the trail.

I don't know of any bike shops in/around the Lower Queen Anne neighborhood where Seattle Center is--there used to be a Counterbalance there, but they've closed. I think Elliott Bay Bikes is probably the closest/most walkable option (it's probably a little less than 1.5 miles away).
