Thanks for the tip, Laura! I looked at the hubs and the two-letter code is ZA, which translates into January 2001, yes? In which case, the hubs are just over ten years old...and probably the rims as well.

If so, does that still make them a good candidate for a rebuild? Or at ten years of age, should I relegate them to the status of venerable back-ups and shop for newer wheels? BF is lobbying for new wheels---he's worried that I would be putting good money into wheels that aren't worth the effort. ... I could always use the Aeroheads on my commuter, which doesn't get as much use as my road bike.
