My little chick got me a bike bell for Christmas. We rode our local paved trail on New Years Day and folks just loved it when I ka-chinged my bell before we passed. Last summer, DH and I found that if we got out and rode earlier in the day we would be finished before the families and the strollers hit the trail. Our trail does have painted lines, but only on sharp and blind curves. Most, but not all, seem to get the concept. BikerHen
