Good luck with the knee surgery! From past experience (both knees) - move around and start your physical therapy as soon as you can. It's amazing how much just walking around (with crutches of course) will speed up your recovery - it gets the circulation going. Healing vibes to you...

I think you two need to stock up on comfort foods - and then be VERY nice to your husband when you two are finally recovered.

I'll add my best wishes. Do what your PT tells you, and don't worry too much about this spring. Heal, and ride lots next year to make it all up.

I'll be thinking of you both too! Isn't it amazing how much the docs can help us these days??? OH! I'll be thinking of your family too... and the DH! Back to back surgeries... yikes...a little stress for your family that week huh? Follow the docs orders and have a safe and speedy recovery...

Good luck on you surgery. Knee surgery sounds awful but......

I had ACL surgery on Tuesday. My leg is in an immobilizer and I'm to use 2 crutches for 2 weeks. I spent Tues, Wed. and Thurs on the couch elevating an icing. Today I am up and around because I'm bored.

I can fully bear weight on my leg, walk without the crutches and don't have a lot of pain. I showered and washed my hair this morning. Sleeping has not been a problem at all.

The only pain meds I'm taking are Aleve and 1/4 of a tablet of Darvocet 4x per day. I get really sick on pain meds so I'm taking as little as possible.

I started range of motion exercises the day after surgery and hope the ortho will let me start on the trainer next week.

I still have a little swelling so I'm continuing to ice and elevate.

According to my rehab protocol it doesn't look like I'll be back on the bicycle until early June.

I hope everything goes well for you, remember to let pain be your guide, ice and elevate and do your pt faithfully as it affects your recovery.
