    Diana Nyad - Swimming Cuba to FL

    Here's big cheers to Diana for giving this a go!! 103 miles from Havana to Key West, a minimum time of 60 hours, and she's 61 years old!!

    In the NPR interview with her, she was stuck on the words to "Horse with no name" as she swam, and of course NPR played the song as the segue...

    Her last name is deeply appropriate. (see what I did there? )

    She had to stop after 29 hours.

    But still; I kept thinking; "I slept all night and she was swimming", "I ate breakfast, went to work, had lunch, kept working, finished my work day; and she's still swimming", "I'm getting ready for bed... and SHE"S STILL SWIMMING". An unbelievable accomplishment.

    I just saw the interview they did with her on CNN. She apparently was having severe asthma attacks, which she'd never before had in the water, for 11 hours. Then she was having shoulder issues as well.

    The thing that's kind of sad is that she said she doesn't plan to try again.

    Amazing effort in any case.
