Biggest pet peeve

I can let the apostrophes slide in casual writing like email and discussion boards, but I can't believe it when I see random apostrophes in formal documents written by people with graduate degrees.

And it is work, so I can't give them this:

I know I should be grateful, but . . .

DH tries to help out around the house but instead he ends up hovering. If I'm washing the dishes, don't try and wash the dishes too--dry them or put them away for crying out loud!

Summertime pet peeve: people watering their lawns. Here in Central KY, a healthy, well-established lawn does not ever need to be watered. In a long dry spell, it'll fade to tan, but turn green with the next rain. Deal with it. It's especially peeving when folks are watering on a Monday when we got about an inch of rain over the weekend, and more is predicted Wed.-Sat. this week...

Had to re-opened a very old thread .... following one on makeup that I did not want to deviate from.

I have quite a few that were already stated on this thread.

One I can't stand: Too much perfumes. At least those who seem to wear a whole bottle in one shot or rather a very strong smelly one. I wear some once in a while in a given week. But I try to wear it for me...not the whole neighbourhood.

This morning again, I was sitting in the bus and this woman is wearing something so strong. I could not get up to chance seat as the bus is full. I tried to look away from her so my nose would not be too close to her. I try to avoid her but sometimes, just not possible. Why is it that some people have to wear so much. I was sneezing, nose was "blocking", etc.

Another one: garlic....Again, some people eat so much of it the night before, that next morning, they smell soooo bad. In fact, some at work it's like they live on garlic. It is a good healthy thing. But there is so much old-garlic-smell I can handle. haha

And what about smokers: some of them smoke so much that their clothes are permanently into the smell.

Can you tell I hate taking the bus to work....but no really other options for time-being. At least it is only in the morning as hubby picks me up after work since he finishes 15 minutes earlier than I do and is not that far away.

Heheh - my dh is infamous for hanging around while I do stuff until I'm almost finished, and then asking if I need a hand. He does loads of houseworkhimself, he just has terrible timing when it comes to helping.

I was reminded of my pet peeve when we went to see Blue Jasmine the other night - people who so badly need to talk about themselves that they just skip the whole polite "and how are YOU doing?"-phase of a conversation. I have several of them in my family...

I don't which is my best pet peeve. They seem to rate all the same:
People who put me on hold so they can answer another call. Am I not important? I usually hang up. I have prepaid minutes.
People who answer a cell phone while at a gathering and then expect everyone to be quiet so they hear. For Pete's sake, take it to another room.
Bicyclists who talk or text on their phones while riding! Are you observant.
And last but not least, what my SO does when he sneezes or yawns. It's annoying.

Co-workers who sit down beside you in the staff room and whip out a cellphone, put it on speaker and proceed to have a very loud conversation.
Totally rude behaviour.......no one wants to hear your conversation TRUST me!!!!!!
