Is it a completely different crop of riders who do the Vuelta? I mean, I can't imagine there's enough time between the TdF and Vuelta for those guys to recover...

I think a fair amount of riders from the TdF will ride. The Contador, Evans the the Schlecks won't be there (the latter three will be at the Colorado race), but some other riders will be... the roster have not been announced yet. I'm sure Vincenzo Nibali will be defending his title from last year for Liquigas. Van den Broek and Wiggins will be there, Roche hopes for some redemption from the TdF. All in all, I think it is fun to see a race where there is not as much hype and clear favorites as in TdF.

As I said a way up-thread my kids couldn't understand how come the "Tour de France" came round again so quickly when it was actually the Vuelta I was glued to.
